where do you live Austin Texas oh my gosh Love Austin golly my favorite city I I I like it better than Nashville this cat is he back he's jumping at the door so I just have to leave it cracked oh you know what you can go no one's here yet doesn't matter let me go lock her in the garage much as I love in the garage we're live but go ahead it don't matter the whole point of this is just hanging with friends hey everybody uh my cat is insane and hold on one second you know people uh good morning everybody uh I I feel

like people um chrisy if you can hear me still basically people like so you canceled yesterday and then now you're live with Christy again but yet christe isn't in the screen so anyways no christe's back we're back back uh let me check the internets to make sure everything's working properly y sweet all right good morning everybody welcome Happy Wednesday this is day three in the new office on my part uh Christy we're expecting baby number two in four weeks um and so uh we moved my office which is Upstairs Downstairs and then now my old office is the nursery so this is this this is

day three um and so uh it's GNA be down here it's good to hang out with chrisy we are live we are back we had a crazy day yesterday uh Christy had mom responsibilities and then I I had a I literally had a massive delivery happen that I was not expecting not a baby not a baby no yes not a baby uh uh and literally um it it happened as we were supposed to go live so then I just messaged her I was like I was like let's just reschedule so I'm glad I'm glad we can make this happen when the universe speaks we listen

right exactly exactly um so for those you tune in uh say hey would love to hear from you the reason why I obviously tell people that is for um it's not for engagement or any of that stuff it's literally so you can Network right we're not in the metaverse yet we're not hanging out in our 3D goggles Apple Vision Pros that' be pretty sweet but we're not there yet so there's so I so people don't know that you're watching unless you comment and the reason why I tell people to comment is because I have found out uh over the course of this show two people

have found jobs indirectly because of the show in that they network with people in the comments then they were like you know hey they kept up with that person then they got a job so the reason so again I want I'm sure Chrissy will talk about this too Chris's got a show um this is this is the modern form of networking right this is it like you know a lot of meetups have gone under a lot of conferences have gone under and we can talk about that obviously but like a lot of things have G under so like these virtual streams that that your favorite

creators do like this is networking and so the only way in my opinion if you don't like to go to meetups like you have to message message people online that show up right so if I were you and what I want for my community is for you to basically Network off the back of me right so message if you have stuck with me for four years and you have messaged every single guest I've had on the show to say Hey you have messaged every single person that shows up in the comments and says hey and you've jumped over to unicorn Founders my other podcast to

message every single founder I've had on the show you would have developed a pretty amazing Network right and so again just say hey worst case just say hey and move on because the community does do a fair amount of Engagement and messages people second thing is ask questions Christy and I caught up I've known her for about 17 minutes now she's fantastic um she's a wealth of knowledge so please ask her questions want to give a shout out to um obviously my uh partners of of the show first and foremost obviously gun iio where I work listen if you're hiring in engineering space and you're

tired of working with vendors that suck let me know because we have a technical team that vets all of our talent and a platform um so if you hate talking to people you can just use our platform to find people which is pretty cool I want to give a shout out to endorsed AI uh they are a basically a really cool AI platform to help screen resumés faster so typically if you submit your resume and you're a recruiter you typically either go from bottom up or top bottom and so you're literally just screening candidates by the way they came into the platform not necessarily by

the best fit endorsed AI is changing that up so I would highly recommend change looking at that especially if you're internal recruiter cat is back Houdini is back that's crazy uh and then render thank you render uh I'm hosting render next week I'll be heading down Tuesday 5,000 person conference in Atlanta it's gonna be a hell of a time June 12 through 14th it's not too late to get your tickets want to give a shout out to people tuning in Jason ja it's good to see you Chris Brandon from Austin as well um we love it we love Austin um Jawa thank you so much

yes can't wait to meet you dude um Tiana it's great to see you um and uh of course Jason making comments and Beth it's good to see you as well um I have a full developer who is death looking for a job hope you all can help uh send me their information I will do my best beth it's always good to see you all right enough let me run my mouth Christy let's give the people what they want who are you what do you do and what is your cat's name we'll go from there first of all this is Rosie and Rosie this is Rosie

my you know we've never done a live with a cat this is great I love it listen everybody either Taylor you're never going to speak to me again and you're going to think who is that crazy woman who let her cat in the shot but also everyone we like lock away our animals and shove away our children but it's just part of who we are so Rosie's just giving herself a bath live on TV this cat is just like she only comes in here when I'm podcasting too or doing someone else lik your voice which nice knower I have a great voice that's why I

have a show too listen uh my podcast is all about how to help companies who like all of them are traumatizing their employees it's called engagement Academy and if all of you have heard that buzz term Employee Engagement it means different things to different types of leaders yeah I was going to ask you like what does that mean yeah so everyone uh doesn't maybe know the term like we need to drive engagement my audience is HR and Executives and people managers and I help everyone understand for like people managers you want a more productive team you need soft skills and the Art of a proper

one-on-one and your employees needs to like trust you and and believe in you and feel safe with you for executives they're like why can't I drive Revenue why aren't we growing what's wrong with this Workforce I'm like well the revenue drivers don't really like the way you make them feel about themselves and for HR it's like you can't do payroll compliance policies benefits hiring firing and like planning the company holiday party while also trying to change the business for the better your team's too small you need budget you need to make investments so I I like to explain things in terms that everyone cares about

but all saying the the same message because taking great care of the people unlocks Innovation and drives more Revenue so no matter who you are if you listen to my show you're going to get some kind of management tip or best practice for leadership or what to do with the employee on your team who's like making you nuts there you go I love it Rosie love it uh thanks for paying the CAT tax actually just get Walter yes I have a corgi named Walter um get Walter and Rosie sit down absolutely um um all right so lot lot to dive into today I I I

want to talk about I mean more or less this driving engagement right so like when I when we first got introduced I went to your LinkedIn stocked to you like every normal person does um you know I was like I was like engagement Academy then I talk to you backstage you're like you know engagement at work and I think it's interesting because I think I think based off my com my conversations with Engineers I feel a lot of people disassociate with where they work pretty quickly yes um and and so so it's interesting that you're the engagement Academy because I feel like you're probably trying

to help the opposite of that yes so my whole career well I just feel like I've been training for this my whole life everything I've I've ever been through every experience every company and even early childhood I the question I kept asking myself until recently was what's wrong with me and a lot of people that I talk to who are looking for a job or are struggling their reaction is more so just not being equipped and not having the tools or the resources or the the training or clear expectations that you need in order to do your best work so I've studied Gallup a lot

and I'm very interested in Psychology because once I hit 30 well let me back up I had a a bad habit of getting fired or quitting like very emotionally so early in my career early in my career I mean I can't possibly be the only one so if anyone else here is like also a moody Broody Scorpio ENFP like holler at your girl I got I'm the same but um my very first job I can remember sitting in an all hands 22 23 years old right I'm like what's in all hands what are we doing they're like it's a meeting where we all get together

I'm like okay and so we go a couple months working there at the end of one of the All Hands the CEO at the end of this very exaggerated long table with a bunch of people sitting at it he goes does anyone have any questions and I very naively said yeah when will you be answering the other questions that we anonymously submitted like when basically he didn't answer everything that we asked and I was just asking when he was going to do it and the 10c glare I got while everyone slowly turned to look at me and I was like oh that wasn't the right

question to ask but I really was was wondering and he said he said you know the meeting's over essentially and then I got fired and I remember thinking what am I supposed to do in that situation other than just shut up so then I went the next company I didn't speak I was too scared to to share anything or say anything wrong oh yeah I mean I would yeah and then I got fired again because they were like you're not moving fast enough and I was like what is going on so then I read all the books everything from The Four Agreements to radical cander

and like how to win friends and influence people and I thought oh it's it's a game of psychology and then I did much better but I learned the dark psychology and learned how to hold my own against you know some of the the nastiest of execs and I didn't like who I was becoming so no no matter what happened though the first six months of working at a company it was like I was a high performer I was happy to be there and then I'd settle right into my disengagement seat like at the table with everyone else who's like this is just the way it

is here and you're like this is it this is being an adult this stinks huh yeah God there's so many places I I know we talked about a few things but even as we're going live and I'm sure you're aware of this because you have your earn show you you're you kind of want to go all these Avenues I I I really truly there has been a huge push lately for a lot of people leaving corporate America to start their own thing and I think a lot of that is because um the the perm salary jobs everybody thought were safe are not safe anymore right

I mean we're we're we're seeing that firsthand and so what what would be your advice to people who are frustrated upset disassociating yes in this current environment right now love it for me it was finding my personal values h because I guarantee you at most companies your Co you're probably your company probably doesn't know their values and if the company isn't operating by the framework of words by which you're supposed to make decisions on how to treat each other how to treat customers how to what's the workload like how do we say no how do we set boundaries if your company's not living by that

you have to come up with your own scaffolding for me it was um really nipping my people pleasing in the bud and then controlling when the people went too far and I was feeling taken advantage of the lashing out that I would do but my values kept me from being in those types of situations and actually led me to quitting my Tech Career alt together and thinking I I don't want to wait for the leader to come along that I've been dreaming of I'm gonna go be the leader and even though right now I'm an employee employee number one I know what I'm building is

solving like the world's Global disengagement suffering so I know this is going to become something greater and bigger and it's already had a ton of impact in the years I've been working on this leading up too and now I'm wandering but it's like every single time now when I'm posed with a hard decision or someone doesn't treat me the way I want to be treated or it crosses the boundary I refer to my values and I know immediately what to do and how to handle it and my life has kind of just like corrected itself I love my life now uh whenever I hear values

of a company I I so I I came from a place where I I've talked to other people about it too that a lot companies use values to almost get their way you know kind of railroad you um or also not even address the problem right um and I in my experience I think values are kind of lame but you're over here saying it's pretty vital to the organization can you break that down because I think totally just so I'm I'm kind of a non-millennial in this perspective I'm kind of like a a genen z boom or a boomer type MTI I'm like just show

up and get the work done and we don't need values but like can you break that down why that's not probably a good thing first of all you must be an elder Millennial like me and grew up in the late 80s early 90s there's that hint of Boomer in us that's like just get it done and the I know yeah yeah I I go to bed like at you know six and I I have a cat and I eat early you know I'm just an old man now at this point I think that's a mix of how we were raised truly as kids it was

like you came home when the street lights were on and you just kind of no one was really there to check in with you so you just like got it done but for values to work in any situation but especially in corporate no matter your company size or industry or what stage of growth you're in it has to be a process where the employees tell you what words matter to them and they suggest words and you look for the patterns you can't dictate values and say this is who you are because employees are like no it's not and I you no offense these words mean

nothing to me um but there is an art to asking everyone you know what words do you feel like best describe you or what you're trying to achieve I have a whole framework if you want to reach out to me my favorite thing to help companies do is revisit their values but once you get the the data from your employees to say what kind of a person are you you look for the patterns and you find words where one points to productivity one points to how you drive Revenue one points to how you treat each other one points to some kind of leadership best practice

that's like keeps your Managers from running kingdoms of Anarchy um and one value that's like about anything out outside of work assuming or really giving permission to bring your whole self in and and feel celebrated for who you are so the values can't be like respect teamwork and you know the navy blue hunter green those words are almost like they don't mean anything anymore right so this is the most important time and especially a great chance to use AI to say here's a data drove dump of what our employees say words that matter to them help us find the patterns help us come up with

creative ways to make this ours and reflect us and then every year you need to ask employees do these values still mean anything to you have you made a decision based on these values which value um you know an all hands is a good time for a company too to say this person lived up to this value so you drive it home managers in one-on ones should say I you know you overd delivered on this project someone else gave you Kudos and recognition you're living up to this value I'm super proud of you what else do you need so you can continue to do you

know great work like that it needs to be always part of the the fabric and the conversation yeah um yeah what do you you know I'm gonna you know again kind of a boomer type mentality here right and just challenging you here you know it's a lot of like well we don't need to coddle our employees our employees just need to do the work you know we don't need to be like you know one of the things I used to do again a very Boomer mentality was like uh whenever When anybody wanted to celebrate something I go good job doing your job now if you

I only said that really people on my team my people te people on my team knew I love them and we did one-on ones I mean we did all the things that you would approve of I just want to let you know that but one of the things and I did it I kind of tried to Humble people is like you know good job doing your job that's what you were hired to do right you were hired to place that person in the job good job doing your job now what are what are your thoughts on on the whole thing of like like basically that

and like Enterprise Lo like good job doing your job that's what you were hired to do you know we're not we're not going to sit here and coddle you what are your thoughts on that I think there's a way to teach employees to give recognition because saying hey thanks for being great at your job you're right it means nothing it's almost patronizing and you're like okay thanks yeah I know I'm good at marketing that's why you hired me um there is a Formula that I can paste on my LinkedIn profile after this I need to dig it up from a LinkedIn live that I did

on how recognition drives revenue and when you workshop and train your employees and your people managers to give specific timely kind of like smart goals in this way but specific timely like TI to evalue how it went above and beyond and how it affected you how did they change your day what impact did this have on the customer why was this a win in Innovation even though it was a setback there's an element of Storytelling that needs to be taught at your company to make the recognition super deep and meaningful to where the person is like ah I am incredible I didn't know I made

that big of yeah I worked late hours but like I didn't know what what else this helped with and how much that meant to that person giving me the recognition so yeah yeah there's a fre I love that I love that no I mean I think I mean I think it's important I mean I think too like I think people right now I mean there obviously there's different motivations right money recognition work life balance all that stuff and and you know for me I kind of view companies needing listen if you if you're not going to pay your people a ton right I mean I

I I've I'm helping staff startups where they pay everybody the same pay right I mean you know because they don't have a ton of Revenue like I feel like you have to dig into other areas right so list listen if you're not gonna you're not gonna pay the people what they want your recognition and your flexibility and all that stuff's got to be topnotch what are your thoughts on that just like listen if we're not making it up in someplace we got to make it up in others yeah so do you guys remember the the gallups or um maso's hierarchy of needs so there's there's

an employee hierarchy of needs that Gallup created Gallup is like the authority on studying what's wrong with everybody for the last 40 years so I'm gonna try to pull something up really quick okay yes okay good I'm gonna show you guys the employee hierarchy of needs you can screenshot this and send me a message if you have a question but recognition is actually super top of the pyramid it's actually not like a primary you do you want to present real quick and then I'll throw it up a live thank you for catching that I can't talk and do things at the same time so go

ahead do that hey where are we Squad dreamyard don't show these tips again okay hold on share screen employee hierarchy of needs okay so hold on there there we go sweet okay this is a very crude PDF but I did not create this Gallup did and up so just like you can't worry about becoming a pop star in your highest version most elevated self at the top of maso's hierarchy you need food water and shelter first so feeling like you and F your your co-workers are committed to doing quality work that's part of recognition or my supervisor at work seems to care about me as

a person in the last seven days I've received recognition y yada those are higher level parts of the pyramid most companies are stuck on the Bottom Rung with no shoes no shirt they're like Naked and Afraid alone in the woods wondering where the revenue is because their employees don't know what's expected of them at work so you don't need a recognition program or like you don't need to worry so much about recognition if company goals are not in place if values are not being used as a framework to make decisions every single day if the um the teams operate as as like living breathing organisms

where people join and leave teams instead of a a hierarchy where people feel stuck you need to know even just like what to work on a lot of companies don't have project management skills or software and half the team's using assana half the team's using Monday and Trello and no one's being held accountable to anything and it's just chaos and Anarchy and it causes stress because you're jerked around with timelines and deadlines and you just don't know every day you log into slack or teams or your emails exploding redundant communication interruptions it's just like you need to create the space and time for your people

to work and many things need to be in place to meet this basic need and that's what I help companies figure out where they're stuck exactly I love that I love that that's awesome I I I like I've been sharing more screens during my lives and I really really like it um so so let's let's talk about workplace trauma how to deal with it right I mean I I I would say I would say over the last three years my last company you know I was I was I was pretty burned out I mean I think in hindsight that like I was I was I

was done right and and I think there's a lot of signs I'm really big on counseling and therapy and all that stuff um and mental health I mean what are just some ways or or some things to do if somebody's feeling burnt out um in in their workplace right now what are some things that they can do to either I guess like not get ahead of it but just like deal with it Andor you know when when is it time to move on are we allowed to go a little out into the stratosphere for a second course you do you want this is this is

you're you're the guest everybody else is just commenting so great uh guys the best thing I did for myself was childhood regression therapy with a legitimate um trained and I have two recommendations on this I was needing so much therapy I had two of them at once doing working on different things with me go but going back to spend time with your childhood version of yourself the loneliest most lost disconnected or needs not being met version of you whether you had strict parents who held you to too high of a standard to your older sister or you were forced to be a doctor or your

parents weren't home and you were a latchkey kid um whatever happened to you to go back and and get that version and spend time of with that version of yourself seems a little goofy but that work is very transformative to figure out how you show up as an adult for me I sought out situations that made me confused and made me feel like I didn't have value because it reminded me of my childhood I got the dopamine hit of familiarity of like I don't know where I fit in I'm the kid sister to two much older brothers who already achieved and accomplished everything but okay

I'll be a D1 athlete too who plays all the instruments and gets good grades and go to church but like I don't really know what why I'm here or where I fit into this family system I would go work at companies where I would be a high achiever I got value in my family from like hey I you would get attention from being good at banned or getting good grades or having a great game so I sought out work situations where I would crush it and but I wouldn't get up to the upper levels necessarily or being taken seriously for data driven decisions but I'd

be told like oh but you you're good you just go keep doing things to make us look good so figuring out what your childhood problem statements are and as an adult when you're having these feelings of burn your body's really crying out for help and asking you to pay attention because something is not right something is wrong your body's trying to warn you that you know we're so good at coping and disassociating and just like I got to get it done I got to get that paycheck I've got to provide I can't let anyone know that I I'm not liking my job all my friends

think I have this cool Tech Career who you have to like blow all that out of the water and just do it for your childhood self what did they need for me it was painting I was like I got to paint on the weekends and be creative interesting I swear to God you guys whatever it was for you go Tinker go remember your hobbies otherwise you're just gonna it you can't just work and work out and sleep that's that's you one thing you know one thing that's really helped me is um uh you know for me I I've actually been kind of on this journey

over the last like six nine months like like 2024 for me was spiritual mental physical health like that's been like my like mantra for this year um and I I one thing I've started to do is well i' I've really nailed down my morning routine like I don't know about y'all but like what I've realized if you if you make me jump into the day without having a cup of coffee some quiet time I will be cranky the entire day and so I F I've I've learned that and then also and I joked about this earlier is I go for walks at night now like

what I've realized is that um I I'm I I stream a lot I'm I'm on my computer a lot I'm a personality from eight to five and I what I've realized is I have no time to process what I've realized is my day comes at me from 5:30 a till 5:00 pm and so what I've realized is that if if I was sitting in front of TVs or or playing a little bit of the little bit of video games that I do I'm not processing I'm just I'm I'm like going blank in my head but I'm not processing and so so the walks have been

just a a tremendous value to me I didn't know if you had any more thoughts on that yeah you know I think burnout is just a symptom of I don't want to do this so really truly like for you for your walks and and we have to put on these masks at work to to be a certain way but this is again why your your values become more important so you don't have to put on the mask of the people pleaser or you more easily can take off your mask of performer more safely like okay now it's time for me it's okay to wear my

mask because I'm proud of that version of me but if you don't have goals even personal goals you guys company goals are messy and I've never seen goals be given to me that I'm like yes this makes sense and I have the resources to get this done and I completely believe in and was part of this process of giving this to me no it's always been completely out of my control my comp is tied to it and I'm like shoot how am I going to get this done and what if I don't get my bonus like I did last whatever you know some sales teams

and support teams are part of their act pay that's like a solid chunk of it is tied to did you achieve your goals yeah so burnout comes when we don't feel like we're in control of our destiny but in your personal life you getting that in control I have personal goals and it's has nothing to do with what I'm working on it's personal goals for fitness personal goals for certain types of skills I want to learn and books I want the type of person you want to become so you can give yourself a more of a sense of done if you're burned out at work

if you at least have goals in your personal life and a framework to refer to that makes sense is that is that why everybody uh at our age wants to go join a run club and run a marathon everyone's like Brewing their own kombucha or making coffee or like a fitness influencer and I think it's because we are just so hating these jobs but the flip side of this is if organizations and Executives were like employee driven because they're the ones who drive the revenue when you get really good at listening to and taking care of your employees they don't want to have all their

crazy Hobbies as deeply because they actually love your company I've lived that once I worked for one incredible company that I never wanted to leave and then it got acquired which there you go um I love it I love it so talk uh as we kind of wrap up here again I knew I know I knew this would happen time FES when you're having fun any any words of wisdom anything we didn't really touch that that that you wanted to to talk about I'm just want to leave these last few minutes for you yeah I would pay attention to what kind of if you're leading

teams or if you're just interacting with people pay attention to how you react when you're angry or when you need to get something done and ask yourself if it reminds you of a parent or whoever your caretaker was you've going back to Childhood regression therapy you can do a little bit of work on your own without having to hire someone ask yourself how you show up in your stressful moments and it reminds you of someone you didn't want to be like it's really good to to pay attention to what would it look like for you to not do that and imagine in your head you

know I was sometimes an aggressive leader because I was frustrated and scared and it was my insecurity but it I also grew up in a household that was like no monkey business so I was emulating what I had and I would scare employees too and then come to find out later like that's just not how I wanted to lead so just pay attention to to your growth areas and who does it remind you of that's like a good first Epiphany to change bad habit so good so so many good stuff I mean like we could dive into another half hour of just own personal stuff

but yeah no I think that's great I think I think it's C important show up notice and one thing I've really worked on and and I I've had some major anxiety attacks I mean I've been pretty open about this but I mean I was I was a bear to live with the last year and and it got to the point the end of last year where I would shut down I it would just be my wife was like you just were awful to live with and I was and so I hired a nutritionist and the first two things we cut out were gluten and caffeine

and what I realized looking back on it now that gluten really makes me anxious and inflames my body and so does caffeine in large quantities I still do caffeine every now and then but just you know chugging 48 ounces of cold Brewer every day maybe wasn't the best of my cortisol levels and so obviously we're getting a little wooy here I understand that but I you know I I I would I would argue that that if you are having anxiety and you are having there are situations that are that that constantly trigger you I would absolutely look obviously counseling big fan of that but also

like look at like what you're eating and look how you're sleeping I mean one of the greatest CrossFit Games athletes literally said he goes if there was one natural thing that would be banned illegal it would be sleep because of how important it is for you and so you know again like I'm I'm really big on that do I course have a long way to go of course I am I ain't got a six-pack right I still I I still love you know a good breakfast sandwich every now and then so but at the end of the day like that's really helped me overcome a

lot yeah one last tip that I wish I would have done sooner two to add to that just join a gym if you can afford it just go every day even if you don't have a workout in mind that's okay no one's looking at you no one's judging you people are probably looking to see what exercise you're going to do because they don't know what they're doing I used to get so in my head and scared to go out I've had so many epiphanies just walking on the treadmill you always think more clearly when you've had some a different environment you can't stay at home

or be in work work work work work mode you need to get mov you have to move your body you will pay for it later you can absolutely get in shape if that's your goal but just getting out of the house and a different environment to think listen to music if you have to and then just like chill out and just relax be around other people it's okay to go to the gym and not know what you're doing yeah and another thing too my nutrition is big on trying to get 10,000 steps a day I mean if you look at the blue zones which are

like Sardinia down in Italy and like these people who live by the ocean and all they do is walk all the time they live to be like a hundred and and it's because they live active Lifestyles so even if you can't afford to get to the gym like my life's been crazy busy um uh I just try to walk 10,000 steps a day and it's usually I have to walk about two miles every night and and it helps with digestion and sleep BL any stuff all right so Chrissy last four questions I do a little rapid fire here um one um I know you're kind

of doing your own thing and and but let's just say this let's let's say you wake up tomorrow and you were told hey you can't do what you're doing but we'll give you money not be an issue but you can't do what you're doing now then what would you do next oh I would be on Saturday Night Live just skit comedy just really for real I love that writing or do performing performing performing I love it I love it um second thing is is is I on that note what do you like to do outside of work for fun standup comedy um I like to

for real yeah well you're in Austin so it's yes I'll be at Joe Rogan's comedy store tonight or whatever I love it um I like to for the longest time I would say laundry and mowing the lawn because I was like a young mom trying to figure out what was going on in anything but now it's I like to paint I like to do um I like to grow my garden but for real for real I like to grow vegetables and flowers and be like look I did this thing um and I just love to I love to play with my kids we play hotel

we play I'm a very Hands-On parent I'm like I can still access my my imagination so like let's go I'll be the crazy lady the wig and and we play like we make up situations and hang out that's awesome I love that um any so typically this question is geared towards like nerds that I talk to about any like Tech Frameworks and stuff um but for me um uh what is um like just a piece of content you've watched or read or listened to lately that's really informative or just an individual following a lot totally listen I Revisited Simon cynic start with Y his viral

Ted Talk where he's got a flip pad of paper and he says before you figure out what or how you need to know why you're doing anything why does your company exist why are you working at the company you know start with your why could be applied to anything in your life and it's helped me to stop jumping into things that I think are exciting without knowing why I'm doing it because it makes the work stronger when I know why am I doing this yeah I love that final question um the show's called guidance counter 2.0 because we had guidance couns middle school high school

and college but now as adults we don't really necessarily have a guidance counselor to turn to so what would be your uh biggest piece of career advice Christy people are more likely to hear you when you speak in an even killed controlled manner there you go stop yelling yeah they're not GNA hear you yeah Tim Tim Tim juano my favorite Creator um he is leaving corporate world to do his full-time content thing and he said if you can keep your household at a five at all time most of the time he goes if you have to get to a seven people listen and I operate

like at eight always so I'm trying to bring I'm trying to bring that down so um no I love that I love that ton well y'all thank you so much for tuning in appreciate it I have to H into another meeting I totally forgot about so there we go um so um connect with Christie um and uh chrisy thank you so much my friend for joining it was a pleasure um stay on Backstage so I can say bye to you real fast but you have a great one and we'll see youall tomorrow 9:30 a.m.
